Learn How to Grow Beautiful Roses at the Barnegat Branch of the Ocean County Library
April 20, 2026BARNEGAT – The Barnegat Branch of the Ocean County Library will host “How to Grow Beautiful Roses” at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 11. This talk will take you through the life of a rose, from spring to winter, detailing the important steps every rosarian must follow to guarantee beautiful roses.
Roses have the undeserved reputation of being difficult to grow. Although they’re not difficult, roses require attention, and they’re actually quite easy if you follow a few general maintenance requirements.
This program will be presented by certified Rutgers Master Gardener of Ocean County Mary Townsend. Mary is celebrating her 20th year as a Master Gardener. She is the former president of Master Gardeners of Ocean County. She is currently the manager of the Master Gardener Greenhouse in Ocean County Park, Lakewood.
Registration is required for this free program. To register, visit tinyurl.com/RosesBarnegat, call 609-698-3331, or stop by the branch at 112 Burr Street.
